In God's Timing...not mine! Part 1

As most of you know we are expecting our first child. This has been a longer road than expected. In my perfect world I thought I could plan this all out, and once again God reminded me I can't.

July 2008 we came off the birth control, after being on it for 4 years and a couple months. In my perfect plan I was hoping to get pregnant in the next 2 to 3 months, so that when the baby came it would be close to summer. That way my mom would be out of school, and if I needed her help she would be able too. My second plan was that I would have maternity leave from work, and it would be the summer!! That would be so nice. My third idea with my perfect plan in my head was that my child would not be the oldest or the youngest in their class. Well one month went by and nothing happened. Then September 2008 happened. If you don't know what happened that month you will have to look back in my blog. But that was the month Brandon had his accident. So another set back. Than the next couple of months came and went with nothing happening, come Dec. 2008 my appendix ruptured and so I was in the hospital for a week and my body had to adjust to what happened. So another set back. We were very thankful though, because if I would have been pregnant when this happened who knows what would have happened with the baby. It's all in God's timing remember.

Once 2009 began I thought things would have moved along, but things didn't. We eventually had to be put on a fertility drug Clomid 50mg, but it didn't do what it was suppose to do. So the next month we tried Clomid 100mg, and again nothing happened. The last and final step my doctor could give me was Clomid 150mg. It did what it was suppose to do, however we didn't get pregnant. My doctor once we got the medication right was going to give us 3 months, than after that she would have to refer me to a Fertility specialist. 4 months came and went and nothing happened. During these four months we took a trip with all our college friends to Vegas, and while on this trip of the 3 couples that were there, we all have been trying for over a year give or take a couple months. We all were put on clomid, and we got news that our friends the Schmidt's were expecting twins. This happened on their first month of clomid and 50mg. We were very happy for them, but one thing we had been discussing was all the test these other couples had been through. My Doctor didn't run any test on us, and so I walked away with more of an aggressive stand on what was going on. The past year I looked at this process with a very good attitude. I was never one that cried with the Doctor about my frustrations, I just took it one month at a time. While waiting at the Las Vegas airport I decided to get a little more aggressive with my Doctor. I called her expressed what I had heard the past couple of days, so they referred me to a fertility specialist. I went to the Fertility Clinic's website filled out all their form while waiting for our flight, and now all we had to do was wait for them to call us about our first appointment.
