Weston's First Flight!

Passed out, he isn't enjoying his window seat!

Traveling really wears you out.

The weekend after Easter Weston and I flew to Michigan, so I could help with the Wedding Planning. I was really nervous about flying with him. I had lots of help from friends who have flown with babies, but I was well prepared and he did great. The flight to Michigan wasn't full, so that made my job pretty easy. Since it wasn't full, I got to take his infant car seat with me. That was so nice because I left him in there for pretty much the whole time. I also had a ton of room around me because he was next to me. When children fly on planes their seats get a window seat! Kind of nice huh. So I had to sit in the middle. We ended up sitting next to a Tennessee Titan player, so that was nice. He was a nice guy, and Weston had to show off who his favorite team was he was dressed in his Chicago Bears wear. Like I said he did so well. Slept most of the time on the way there, and woke up towards the end of the flight so I just fed him and he was great. The whole weekend he did well. He slept every night, and took great naps. While the women of the family were off wedding planning, Grandpa Potter got to take care of him. He had a fun time playing with him. While I was home we got a lot accomplished for Sarah's wedding. She got a dress, found a church, went to the reception cite, found the bridesmaids dresses as well. So it was good to go home and help her.
So that Monday we had to fly home, the flight was around 5:20 so I was holding on off on feeding Weston because I wanted to feed him when I got on the plane. When we arrived at the airport there is a lane for families with babies, and that line is awesome. It completely bypasses the long wait of the security line and you get put in the front of the line. Security was a breeze (after you unload your stroller and put everything on the security belt). So we got to our gate, and waited. Weston enjoyed his time, he is such an observer. He has to be able to see everything so he can take it all in. We flew southwest, so they called boarding group A to get ready. So I put Weston in his seat attached the stroller after our plane was delayed 10min. and waited. This didn't go very well. He was HUNGRY!! So he started to cry. Then we had to wait a little longer, because those who were in wheelchairs get to board first and they take them down one at a time. So needless to say nothing was making him happy. There was nothing I could do. So we boarded the plane, and when we sat down in our row I started to feed him food and he was fine. Didn't cry another time, but because of that no one sat next to us. So that was kind of blessing. We had the row to ourselves. So all in all, he had his first flight at the age of 8 months!
