Thirty
The weekend of my shower, was also the weekend we celebrated my 30th birthday. It was so nice to have most of my family in town to help celebrate my big 30! Saturday evening we all went out to dinner, we went to one of my favorite places which happens to be a Japanese steak house! Its a restaurant where they cook in front of you, and the food is amazing! You get so much food, that we always take leftovers for the next day. Its a great place to take a group of people to, because you usually are sat with other people if you come in as a small group. And sometimes this can be very awkward at times. So we got to have the whole table to ourselves. We had such a great time. After dinner, we came back to the house and had cake. My In-laws brought the best cake with them. Its from Ohio and its called Liddy's Cake! I even took a couple of piece to some friends of mine at work to show them how wonderful it is, and they agreed its pretty amazing cake! They placed 30 candles around the cake, and because of Weston in my belly it took a couple of times to finally get them all blown out.
It was a great birthday, and it was so fun to be able to celebrate with them all. So how does it feel like to be 30...well to me its just a number. It doesn't really feel any different and I am not depressed about getting older. I will say one thing that makes me feel old is when you fill something out and they want to know your age you see the year 1980 getting lower and lower on the list. That just means there are a lot of people younger than you out there. Such is life though, we all get older and its a part of life. One of the only things that is bothering me about turning 30 before Brandon (he turns 30 in November) is that on Weston's birth certificate my age will be on there and I will be 30 and Brandon will be 29. We won't be the same age. I am not really happy about that. But its out of my control.

Ahoy its a Boy Shower!
About a week and a half ago now, I had my one and only baby shower. My family came into town for the special occasion. I had two of my close friend offer to throw me a shower, and my sister helped. She did what she could with living out of state. One of my co-worker/friend who I actually went to college with at IWU, is starting up her own business. Its called Frilly Milly Events, so with her help it was a great success. She came up with a great idea for the invitations, and the theme went along with everything else that day. It was a Nautical theme, I even purchase a navy blue dress to go along with it. It was a great idea, I loved how we were celebrating a baby shower in an adult way.
The day was great, we had so many friends and family come and those that couldn't let us know they were thinking about us. Weston got so many new toys, books, clothing items, and other items I am sure he thinks he won't need but we know we will. Like burping cloths, bibs, bottles, and diapers. It was so overwhelming at times, to think one little person is going to need all of these items. I picked one of the smallest rooms in the house for the baby room, when I came home and started to take an inventory on items I started to think maybe we should change that plan. Since the shower though, Brandon along with help from my Dad (while he was in town for the shower) worked on painting the babies room. It is now finished. This weekend I hope to get some of the things put away. I will take some pictures soon. I love the way the walls have turned out.
We thank all those who have shown their love and support. Only a couple more weeks now, and everything we have been trying to prepare for will be here. Hopefully we will fill a little more prepared, but I don't know if we will. We are entering a new phase in our lives, one that we are happy to be given but scared at the unknown.

The Bomb Mom
This website is great! I love the idea. Actually if some of you remember DC Talk from our Jr. High days, this is Toby Mac's clothing line. What a great concept, these would make a great gift for a friend. Click on the title above to see what I am talking about.
